Am I Late to the Party?
Of course you are!
Justin Bieber spent over a million dollars on a jpeg of an ape. Clearly that means the NFT ship has sailed.
The End.
Or… does it mean collectors and buyers are interested in the mutually beneficial idea of fairly compensating a creator, in tandem with building a loyal, like minded community of people? A place to belong, if you will. A place that provides people the ability to digitally flex their purchasing power, through form of an NFT. This could be displayed as a profile picture, used in a signature line, or even hanging as art on their wall. What a beautiful marriage of creator and consumer!
Never before the blockchain and NFT’s has there been such an ability to form a loyal, accessible community for a brand, artist or company. Bonds are being formed between musician and concert goer. Between artisan designer in India, to a hotelier in New York. Or from an Israeli fashion illustrator, to a mother in Florida. Web2 has provided the ability for these individuals to conduct transactions. Web3 will form a relationship. A bond. Where community and vision are shaped and shared. Where profits and success are not only celebrated by the buyer, but participated in.
We are only just beginning the story of how NFT’s will shape the future of global commerce. The time to participate is now, and the need for education is crucial. There is no shortage of access points for educating yourself. But connecting with one you can understand, and easily navigate, is another story!
I hope through these articles we can relate to each other; speak the same language. The goal is to tune out the noise and patronizing abbreviations, and get to the good parts. And when I say “good parts,” I mean… let’s get some crypto and go hit the market sans FOMO or panic. Let’s investigate our NFT pioneers, and how they are building out the landscape, so we can prune it back if needed.
Shall we reflect on our own personal brand, or the brand of our IRL (in real life) company/product, so we can harness the power of NFT’s for ourselves? I vote YES! And if we create a DAO, you can vote one day, too. Oh shoot. Was that a patronizing abbreviation? My apologies.
